Applying to the Scrap Drive program is easy. Just fill out the online form, below. We’ll get back to you within 30 days of applying to let you know whether you have been approved.

Fields marked with '*' are required fields.

* Please tell us a bit about your organization, why you want to raise money using the Scrap Drive program, and what you intend to do with the money raised.

* Please tell us your plan for letting people in your community know about your Scrap Drive fundraising effort, and how you will coordinate the collection and delivery of scrap metal to our recycling depot.

* How did you find out about the Scrap Drive program?

* If your organization is approved to participate in the Scrap Drive program, we will set up an account on our computer system to keep track of the volume of scrap metal that you drop off. The name you choose for your Scrap Drive really matters, so please carefully consider the following tips. Your Scrap Drive name needs to be easy to remember so that your supporters can tell us what it is when they come to our recycling depot to drop off scrap metal for your cause. It also needs to be easy to find on our computer system. The first word in your Scrap Drive name is the most important because it is what we use to search for your organization on our system.

Here is an example of a good Scrap Drive name:

Organization name: Scouts Canada-1st Cedar Hill Group
Scrap Drive name: 1St Cedar Hill Scouts

Now that you've read the above information, please tell us what name would you like on your account.

* At the end of your approved Scrap Drive, we will prepare a check for the total value of metal scraps collected by your organization. What name shall we make this cheque payable to, and what mailing address shall we use?

In consideration of my community group being allowed to participate in Schnitzer's Scrap Drive Program, I hereby agree on behalf of my membership to the following:

  1. I hereby assume all risks involved in my and my memberships’ participation in the Scrap Drive Program.
  2. I hereby release, waive, discharge and covenant Schnitzer, its owners, staff, customers or any subdivision thereof from all liability related to my and my memberships’ participation in the Scrap Drive Program, for any loss or damage on account of injury to person (including death) or property.
  3. I further expressly agree that the foregoing release, waiver and indemnity agreement is intended to be as broad and inclusive as is permitted by law in the Provinces of Canada or States of the United States in which the Scrap Drive fundraising program is conducted, and that if any portion thereof is held invalid it is agreed that the balance shall continue in full force and effect.

I have read and voluntarily sign this release, waiver and indemnity agreement on behalf of myself and my membership, and agree to all conditions contained therein.

Note: Schnitzer reserves the right to deny an application without having to provide a rationale.
